MEC to pay poll staff after a year.

Malawi Electoral commission (MEC) has said is expected to finish paying people who worked for the commission in last year’s tripartite elections by mid-May.
MEC’s Director of Media and Public Relations Sangwani Mwafulirwa told radio Islam that the commission is still implementing the new approach of paying them by cash than through banks.
“We are working hand in hand with organizations that fund the commission to speed up the process,” said Mwafulirwa.
He denied rumours that financial crisis is the contributing factor to the delay.
