MEC demonstrates EMD’s voter registration to electoral stakeholders

Malawi Electoral Commission MEC has demonstrated the voter registration using election management device EMD to electoral stakeholders

In her remarks Chairperson of MEC justice Anabel Mtalimanja says the device aims at enhancing effectiveness of election process in the country

Mtalimanja appealed to the electoral stakeholders to raise awareness among the public to ensure that every voter possesses national identity card or proof of voter registration approved by national registration bureau to facilitate voting

She assured them that the election management device is secure and the system is well-protected

In her remarks one of the participants Maggie Kathewera Banda board chairperson of NGO Gender Coordination Network expressed optimism that EMD will ensure free fair and credible general elections next year.
