MAM holds Islamic Conference
Muslim Association of Malawi MAM has reiterated importance of unity among Muslims as a tool for realizing set goals.
MAM Chairman Sheikh Idrissa Muhammad made the call during an annual Islamic Conference in Mangochi.
Speaking during the function Sheikh Muhammad said the conference was important towards reflecting on what the organization has done and deliberating on the way forward to achieving its objectives.
“Such gatherings help to strengthen Islamic activities as well as building strong relations among Muslims in Malawi,” Sheikh Muhammad
Sheikh Muhammad also encouraged Muslims to take up positions in their societies saying Islam can develop only when Muslims are participating in activities happening in their country.
In his remarks Mangochi MAM chairperson Sheikh Fahad Kamsuli who is also one of the organizers of the event said the aim was to outline the future of Islam concerning its vision and development which was discussed in the 2019 annual Islamic conference.
Sheikh Kamsuli then said “developments such as hospitals, schools, and Islamic community radio just to mention a few are the main priorities that need to be achieved.”
Meanwhile MAM secretary for Southern Region Sherif Kaisi said it is high time Muslims focused on developing proper visions.
