MAM Distances from Social Media Claims

The Muslim Association of Malawi (MAM) has strongly distanced itself from social media claims that the association has secure funds to construct about 495, 000 masjids and 350 schools across the country.

Speaking to Radio Islam, MAM Spokesperson, Sheikh Dinala Chabulika, said the claims are not true adding they are aimed at tarnishing the good image of the association’s leadership.

Sheikh Chabulika added that Islam propagates the importance of respecting leaders.

He added that the association door is open to those who have issues with MAM hence the tendency of using social media to peddle lies aimed at bringing in confusion and hatred towards its leadership should stop forthwith.

Last month the National Chairperson for MAM, Sheikh Idrissa Muhammad, attended African Muslim Leaders Conference in Turkey.
