Muslim Association of Malawi MAM has advised Islamic Organisations offering Islamic education to abide by the country’s labor laws.
MAM spokesperson Sheikh Dinala Chabulika has said this while commenting on concerns regarding low pay checks for sheikhs in the country.
While admitting to the concerns Sheikh Chabulika adds that “it is disheartening to note that some Sheikhs are going months without being paid which is affecting their wellbeing.”
According to Sheikh Chabulika the Organisations must make sure that welfare of Sheikhs is upheld considering economic challenges the country is going through.
He said aside the labor laws the organisations must also follow Islamic and humanity principles when treating their employees
