Malawi’s Cabinet Ministers die of covid-19

Ministers of transport Muhammad Sidick Mia and Local government Lingson Belekanyama have died of covid-19

Minister of homeland security through his face book page has announced the death of Mia and Belekanyama

Mia who was also vice president of Malawi Congress Party announced in social media a few days ago that he had tested positive to covid-19

However, Belekanyama’s sickness was not declared but had been suffering from covid-19 for two weeks.

Meanwhile, Muslim Association of Malawi says is saddened by the death of Mia.

Speaking in an interview with Radio Islam, MAM Spokesperson sheikh Dinala Chabilika says “Mia has made greatest contributions to the Muslim community in the country and Islam as a whole.”

He has asked government to step up its covid-19 fight.

Meanwhile, TA Njolomole and other prominent figures have also died  of the pandemic
