Malawi records 84 Measles Cases

Ministry of health has recorded 84 cases of measles as of 18 December 2024.

The ministry’s spokesperson Adrian Chikumbe in an interview says the cases have been recorded in six districts.

In September this year the ministry confirmed of the measles outbreak following dictation of three cases at Mangochi’s Mkuchinga Jwambone health center.

According to Chikumbe it is worrisome that the disease has spread to 5 more districts.

Measles is a highly infectious disease characterized by generalized rash, fever, running nose
