Malawi introduces Procurement training
Government has launched the procurement in service training to curb corruption in its ministries, departments and agencies.
Speaking during the launch at Staff Development Institute in Blantyre Minister of Labour Henry Mussa said the training will be a four week program that will cover all stages of procurement cycle.
“It must be noted that this was hitherto the missing link between academic training and public procurement practice,” said Mussa.
He added that training for the first cohort which commence on 13 March 2017 and ends on 7 April 2017.
Mussa said African Development Bank is funding the training.
“Office of director of public procurement would like to express its sincere gratitude to African Development Bank for providing funding under public finance management and institutional support for the development and validation of training materials,” explained Mussa.
He further said the bank through same project has sponsored the first cohort for the training.
