Malawi is hosting the first ever national children’s summit on climate justice
Speaking during the launch president Dr Lazarus Chakwera said climate change mitigation has impacted on livelihood hence the need to prioritize strategies to ensure that the country does not suffer during crises.
Chakwera said will lobby for support to fight climate change during a summit expected to take place in Egypt in 2 weeks time.
A representative of children parliament Josephine Tione said the summit is very important as it gives chance to children to voice out issues affecting them because of climate change
Tione said climate change has affected children in many ways such as floods which are disturbing their education
She proposed change of policies for the summit to benefit the children and protect them from effects of climate change
