invest more in the local ICT Practitioners – NBM

National Bank of Malawi (NBM) has urged financial institutions in the country to support local lnformation Communication Technology (ICT) practitioners for them to grow their talents.

Chief Executive Officer for NBM, Macfussy Kawawa made the remarks in Mangochi during lnformation Communication Technology Association of Malawi (ICTAM) conference.

Kawawa said it’s disheartening that most financial institutions prefer hiring international ICT experts on the expenses of the local.

He has meanwhile urged local lCT entrepreneurs to work in groups for their products to be easily visible to potential customers.

In his remarks, ICTAM President Bram Fudzurani has expressed satisfaction over the pace at which ICT is moving in the country but indicated that they are working hard to showcase their products so that companies appreciate local lCT solutions.
