Inter-university Network calls for Demonstrations Peace Discussions

Inter-university Network for peace, unity and development has called for stakeholders’ meeting to discuss issues of peace and security during demonstrations.

This has come amid growing concern that Panga wielding men have disturbed peaceful demonstrations twice while police officers were watching the attacks in Lilongwe.

Speaking to radio Islam, chairperson of Inter-university network for peace, unity and development Master Dicks Mfune called on Malawi peace and unity commission, Malawi police service, civil society organizations and other concerned parties to come to a round table to discuss best way of dealing with attacks on demonstrators
