Government opens Kwitanda Health Center

Ministry of health has opened Kwitanda Health Center, a K49 million structure constructed with Constituency Development Fund (CDF)

Speaking during the official opening Minister of Health Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda has expressed government’s commitment to improving health service delivery in the country in line with 2063 sustainable goals.

Chiponda stressed the initiative’s crucial role in fighting against poor health service delivery in the district.

She further acknowledged long distances as a major maternity challenge the community has faced adding Kwitanda Health Center is being given to this community in order to improve delivery of quality healthcare services

Chiponda also launched the oral cholera vaccine campaign at Dzimwe Health Center in the same district.

Speaking at Kwitanda Health Center, Dr. Aisi Akoso, Lead of WHO’s Expanded Program on Immunisation, pledged total support and commitment aimed at ensuring access to quality healthcare services for all, leaving no one behind.

Member of Parliament (MP) for Balaka South Constituency, Ireen Mambala, also echoed satisfactory remarks regarding the implementation of the project, attributing it to maternity challenges women experienced, citing long distances to access maternity services.
