Germany experts release Malawi Plane Crash Report

Interim report by German Federal Bureau BFU on investigation of plane crash in Chikangawa forest that killed former vice president and 8 others has been released today (Friday) on their website

According to the report the plane was not equipped with a Cockpit Voice Recorder and the air navigation service had no recorded radar data of the two flights on the day of the accident.

The GPS data shows the airplane was climbing and descending at different attitudes between 8,600 ft and 185 ft in different directions before hitting the trunk of the tree and crashing into the slope of the hill

Meanwhile members of parliament have forced government to release the report so that Malawians should know the truth of the plane crash

In parliament Member of Parliament for Machinga East Constituency Esther Jolobala said the law makers demanded the minister of transport to provide the report to the public

Jolobala stressed that families of the deceased are suffering therefore government should not play games on the report of plane crash

She said many Malawians cannot afford to access the report on the website therefore government needed to read its contents in the national assembly.

In his response Minister of transport and public works Jacob Hara said people should read the report on the German Website because Malawi has not received the comprehensive report

Leader of the house Richard Chimwendo urged the parliamentarians not to politicize the plane crash report
