Former president says fresh presidential election was a waste
Former president Peter Muthalika says the June fresh presidential election was a waste.
Muthalika was speaking in Mangochi during his first press conference since the June fresh presidential election.
He said they introduced the 50% plus one law to remove him from the position.
On misunderstandings in the party, he said “there are some people from people’s party who want to dissolve DPP grassroots and then sell the party to the highest bidder.”
He however said this will not materialize as the national governing council will convene followed by the convention.
On the calls for him to leave the party Muthalika said will hold the position until the party’s next convention.
The former president denied commenting on new government saying it has done nothing apart from inspecting and opening his projects
