Fiscal police look for Mulanje Bale CDF files-leader of opposition in parliament
Leader of opposition has reported in parliament that fiscal police have been looking for files of constituency development fund of MP for Mulanje Bale Victor Musowa after saying will not be attending budget meeting until students start learning
Kondwani Nankhumwa told the second deputy speaker of Parliament Aisha Mambo Adams that the fiscal police were looking for the files at Mulanje district council
Nankhumwa said that means the freedom of speech and immunity of MPs on the opposite side has been curtailed.
“I therefore ask leader of the house to look into the matter,” Nankhumwa
Reacting leader of the house in parliament Richard Chimwendo Banda said they cannot discuss the issue because it is a reported speech and Musowa is not in the chamber
Chimwendo Banda who is also minister of homeland security said “I am ready to respond to the issue if need be only in the presence of the intimidated MP.”
Then the second deputy speaker condemned intimidation on any MP and advised the leader of opposition to make official communication to her office
Nankhumwa lodged the complaint when members of parliament were commenting on the 2020 to 2021 midyear budget review which was presented by minister of finance last Friday
