EU donates 1000 bicycles to Malawi

In a bid to reduce transport challenges in police stations across Malawi European Union EU is distributing 1000 bicycles to all district through Chilungamo project.

Speaking during the handover ceremony of 17 bicycles to Dowa District Council Dowa police station officer in charge Owen Maganga thanked European Union for the donation.

Maganga said the donation has been made at a right time as the station was voted number 1 in the Central Region in as far as reduction of crime in 2017 is concerned.

“The bicycles and the new vehicle donated by Peoples Republic of China will help Police officers and Community Policing Forums to patrol the district,” said Maganga

He said the bicycles will be shared to all Police Units and Community Policing Forums.
