ECT to establish rainforest in Blantyre
Environmental Conservation Trust ECT has revealed plans to establish a 500 million kwacha rain forest at Mudi catchment area in Blantyre.
In an interview with Radio Islam ECT trustee chairperson Peter Mtengezo said the project is expected to commence this year and will run for 3 years.
Mtengezo said the Trust is working in collaboration with forestry department to capacitate them on how to care for the trees to ensure its survival.
He then requested the general public to support the initiative in a bid to restore the environment and do away with impact of climate change.
