DPP members call for Muthalika’s 2025 presidential candidacy

Democratic Progressive Party DPP members have called for peter Muthalika to be the party’s torch bearer in 2025 presidential election.

This has come after DPP vice president for northern region Goodall Gondwe told journalists in Lilongwe that Muthalika is the only person who can get the party united.

Commenting on these sentiments, political commentator Victor Chipofya says there is nothing wrong in endorsing Muthalika to be the touch bearer as long as other aspirants are given chance to contest at the convention

Democratic Progressive party DPP is this year expected to hold a convention with notable names like former reserve bank governor Dalitso Kabambe, former minister of justice Bright Msaka, DPP vice president for the south Kondwani Nankhumwa and former minister of finance Joseph Mwanamveka having keen interest to contest for the party’s top leadership.
