DPP faction rejects endorsement of Mutharika’s candidature

A faction of Democratic Progressive Party DPP from northern region has distanced itself from another group that endorsed the candidature of Mutharika in 2025 elections

Speaking at a press briefing in Lilongwe deputy director of research and training in DPP Ken Msonda said are surprised that some members of the party from the north claim that all supporters in the region endorse Mutharika

Msonda said the DPP’s national governing committee members are not in support of it

Agreeing with Msonda Director of political affairs in DPP Werani Chilenga and two other senior party members said were not consulted on the decision

They said the endorsement does not reflect the views of all members of DPP
