Dedza urged to vote for Joyce Banda
Dedza have been urged to vote for Joyce Banda as president on May 20.
This has been said by Moses Kunkuyu who is contesting as Member of Parliament for Dedza South constituency, when he addressed people at Bembeke turnoff.
Kumkuyu said if people in Dedza want development they should vote for President Joyce Banda.
Speaking at the rally President Banda said that people should vote for her as their president and Moses Kunkuyu as their member of parliament for Dedza south.
She said that Kunkuyu left for Blantyre to contest in Dedza so that he should bring development in the area.
She added that people in Dedza are hard workers hence need to be helped in finding markets for them to sell their produces.
She said that she has already agreed with other countries which rely on other countries on food to do business with Malawi, and Dedza will be one of the districts to do this business.
She also said that estimates have shown that the country will have surplus food.
She further said that the survey conducted by ministry of Agriculture has shown that the country will have 3.9 million metric tonnes of maize while the country use 2.9 million metric tonnes a year that makes the country to have 1 million metric tones on reserve.
She therefore said that her party won’t stop the fertiliser subsidy input program and the loans they give people to buy fertiliser.
She also advised people in the country to practice irrigation farming so that people should have food throughout the year.
