CSO’s ask president to fire Minister over expensive car
A group of concerned civil society organizations has asked president Chakwera to fire minister of natural resources Eisenhower Mkaka as Ant Corruption Bureau is investigating his purchase of expensive car
Addressing journalists in Lilongwe executive director of Centre for Democracy and Economic Development Initiatives CDEDI Sylvester Namiwa said Chakwera should dismiss Mkaka just like he did with other ministers who were implicated in corruption scandal
Namiwa said “if Chakwera does not fire the natural resources Minister civil society organizations will hold demonstrations on 28th July this year.”
He also asked Chakwera to scrap presidential immunity as 14 day ultimatum they gave him to direct law commission and attorney general to amend section 91 of the constitution has expired
Mkaka is also the secretary general of the ruling party Malawi Congress Party MCP
