Court Resumes NOCMA Corruption Case
High court has resumed hearing a corruption case in which former minister of energy Newton Kambala, president of Aford Enock Chihana and former advisor of President Chriss Chaima Banda are answering
State lawyers cross examined main witness in the case Helen Buluma if she was the right person to make decisions of National Oil Company of Malawi NOCMA when she was acting chief executive officer of the company
Among others Buluma responded to the recommendation of Ombudsman investigative report which said her appointment was illegal
Buluma said the recommendation was only the decision of Ombudsman which can change anytime therefore will clarify in future
Buluma had implicated Secretary to President and Cabinet Collen Zamba as well as principle secretary of energy in the NOCMA Procurement scandal
