Concerned citizens demand resignation of MERA CEO, Minister over fuel supply lies
Concerned citizens have demanded immediate resignation of chief executive officer of Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority MERA and Minister of Information over fuel supply lies
In a statement the concerned citizens say are deeply disappointed by the misinformation provided to the public by Henry Kachaje and Moses Kumkuyu who assured Malawians that fuel would be available last weekend
Signed by Edwards Kambanje and Oliver Nakoma of people power movement the statement says to date fuel scarcity remains a persistent issue causing hardship to countless citizens and paralyzing economic activities across the country
Kambanje and Nakoma say this failure to address ongoing fuel crisis compounded by unfulfilled promises demonstrates severe lack of accountability and transparency from key leadership figures
They say as public officials entrusted with the responsibility to resolve such issues their actions have undermined public confidence and trust this country lacks kind of leaders that can walk the talk but has only bunch of tricksters
According to the concerned citizens the current administration should accept that they have failed and won’t change anything
They therefore call upon Kachaje and Kumkuyu to step down from their respective positions for their failure to address and manage this critical issue
The power people movement has threatened that will mobilize motorists and well-meaning Malawians to hold a massive demonstration to demand accountability and swift action to restore fuel availability if the two do not resign
They stress that people of Malawi deserve leaders who prioritize truth, transparency and effective solutions hence urging immediate action to resolve the crisis and prevent further hardships to Malawians.
