Chief Justice gives judges 90 days ultimatum

Centre for Human Rights Education Assistance and Advise CHREAA has welcomed the 90 days ultimatum which chief justice Rezine Mzikamanda has given 90 days to the judges to conclude all the cases they are handling.

This was revealed when judiciary officials appeared before Public Accounts Committee of Parliament

Speaking to radio Islam, Executive Director for CHREAA Victor Mhango says  this will give an opportunity for poor suspects who cannot afford lawyers or access paralegal services to access justice.

“Some suspects have stayed for long without having their cases heard,” Mhango

He has also urged the judiciary to include cases which were being handled by judges who either retired or are unwell in the hearings.
