Chakwera yet to receive audit report on 6.2 billion kwacha covid-19 funds
State house says President Chakwera is yet to receive the 6.2 billion kwacha audit report from National Audit office.
This has been said a month plus after the president ordered an investigation on how the covid-19 funds were utilized by clusters and government ministries following alleged reports of abuse
On 21st February Chakwera ordered Audit office to make an investigation and submit a report to his office in a month time.
However, speaking during weekly state house briefing presidential press secretary Brian Banda said as soon as the office completes the audit, a report will be submitted to rightful authorities.
“The president has confidence in audit office as such will let the body conduct its job independently without interference from the state house,” Banda
On the anticipated cabinet reshuffle, Banda was quick to say that the president will announce the new Ministers at a proper time adding currently Chakwera cannot issue any comment on the issue.
He further said the president will meet with Malawi airlines management to map the way forward on the suspension of flights.
