Birth and death certificates issuance in progress
National Registration Bureau has appealed to people who want to access birth or death certificates to wait for ten working days for their certificates to be released after applying for them.
In an interview with radio Islam the bureau’s spokesperson Norman Fulatila said they have now printed over 2000 birth and 15 death certificates since the rolling out of the program on 1st August this year.
Fulatila said the issuing of the certificates is currently taking place in 24 districts.
“The bureau is planning to start electronic issuing of birth and death certificates across the country by the end of this year because it is currently happening in Blantyre, Chitipa, Lilongwe and Ntcheu districts,” said Fulatira
Fulatira said the bureau will start mass registration excise when it gets adequate funding.
