Police nets 3 people for damaging bank notes.

Police in Mangochi have arrested 3 people for damaging and soiling bank notes.

Mangochi police deputy publicist Aminah Tepani Daudi has identified the suspects as Annie Sauzika 35, Eliza Million 30 and Juma Machakwanu 20.

According to Daudi the incident took place on the afternoon of October 18 at Changamire Residence within Mangochi township.

She said the three were spotted in a video clip splashing and soiling the bank notes while dancing hence the arrest.

All suspects have been granted bail but will appear before court on Monday to answer the charges which attracts maximum penalty of 5 million kwacha.

“We are advising the public to adhere to reserve bank of Malawi regulations at all functions including parties, weddings, engagements, to avoid finding themselves in the wrong arm of the law”, said Daudi
