DPP MPs elect Nankhumwa opposition leader in parliament

Members of parliament of Democratic Progressive Party DPP have elected Kondwani Nankhumwa as leader of opposition

Nankhumwa got 38 votes, Francis Kasaira 4 and Bright Msaka 1

The election took place at parliament and was presided over by DPP secretary general Grelzelder Geffrey

Nankhumwa accepted the position saying he appreciates DPP MPs for trusting him

The election happens after parliament rejected appointment of Kasaira by DPP president Peter Mutharika
