MAM express surprise on Covid-19 regulations

Muslim Association of Malawi (MAM) says they were not consulted by government on the newly gazetted COVID-19 regulations which have limited religious gatherings to ten people.

Speaking to Radio Islam, Spokesperson for MAM Sheikh Dinala Chabulika, explained that the measures highlighted in the regulations have been taken by surprise.

Sheikh Chabulika said MAM is however waiting for a round table meeting between government and religious institutions for it to make its stand on the number of congregants.

“We ask Muslims in the country to continue observing all covid 19 prevention measures in all mosques.”
