Balaka District Council pleads to respect the dignity of the relief items beneficiaries

Balaka District Council has urged organisations which will be distributing relief items to stick to their promises regardless of logistical challenges.

Balaka district commissioner Emmanuel Bambe made the remarks during a full council meeting.

World Food Program (WFP) in collaboration with Plan Malawi are expected to distribute cash  amounting to K 23, 500  which will cater for  50kgs maize, 2lts cooking oil and 10kgs pulses to be distributed for five months starting November.

However Bambe said the council will bring to task these implementing organizations should they fail to meet these promises, saying their logistical challenges does not concern citizens, hence they should not suffer the consequences.
