Malawi Universities challenged to produce employable Graduates
Higher learning institutions have been challenged to produce graduates that are employable as they are key to achievement of Malawi development
This was said by Minister of higher education at Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences after inspecting Domasi College of Education, Malawi College of Accountancy and University of Malawi
Dr Jessie Kabwila said was very impressed with some key innovations and technological developments taking place in some of the higher learning institutions
However the minister decried low standards in some universities as well as poor accommodation for students
Kabwila disclosed that the Ministry will soon table the high education bill in parliament which will get rid of fake universities, buying of degrees and shortcuts in acquiring tertiary education
UNIMA vice chancellor professor Samson Sajidu, Domasi principal Dr Archangel Yambeni, MCA Principal Christina Chithila and MUBAS vice chancellor Profesor Nancy Chitera assured the minister that their institutions will ensure they stick to standards of education and keep universities competitive
