World condemns Israel’s ban of UNWRA from operating in Palestine

The world has condemned Israel’s legislation prohibiting UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) from operating in Palestine

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres said such law is unacceptable because will lead to catastrophic outcomes for Palestinian refugees

Guterres said there is no alternative to UNRWA adding implementation of those laws would be detrimental for resolution of Israeli-Palestinian conflict, peace and security in the region

He said UNRWA is indispensable hence urging Israel to adhere to its commitments under United Nations Charter and other international legal frameworks.
