UAE highness partners with Malawi to address critical challenges

Office of his highness Sheikh Ahmad Al Qassim of United Arab Emirates has admitted that is in partnership with Malawi to address several critical challenges that impact the latter’s development

This has been disclosed in a statement released after media reported that there is a dubious fuel deal between Malawi and the office of Al Qassim

President of the board of the office Dr Marcin Lapa says they decided to partner with Malawi after noting that the country is facing limited access to essential resources like fuel, fertilizer, food, scarcity of currency and energy sector

Lapa says upon recognizing these challenges the office of Al-Qassim has signed a memorandum of understanding to formalize their strategic partnership with Malawian to identify sustainable solutions and drive long-term growth.

According to him the tireless support from secretary to President Colleen Zamba has been instrumental in pushing these initiatives forward

He also revealed close relationship with National Oil Company of Malawi NOCMA to address fuel supply chain issues citing the leadership of Clemens Kanyama

“The office of his highness agreed with Malawi to trade in Kwacha than relying on dollar to enable the government secure critical commodities like fuel and fertilizer while reducing their costs by 30 percent,” Qassimi

However, he bemoaned that recent media reports sought to misrepresent the nature of their work in Malawi adding they are based on inaccuracies and misunderstandings

Lapa says the allegations suggesting improprieties are without merit and detract from the positive work being done to benefit people of Malawi

He says they are also supporting education to primary and secondary schools through a charity work carried out in villages
