New York City allows mosques to broadcast calls to prayer without needing permission on Fridays and during Ramadhan
Announcing the new guidance Mayor Eric Adams said mosques do not have to apply for a permit to amplify their call to Friday prayer
One Muslim resident said this is their constitutional right as American citizens.
Adams said the Islamic call to Prayer is not prohibited despite sound restrictions in city neighborhoods.
