Multi Choice Withdraws DSTV Service from Malawi
Multi-choice Africa holdings has withdrawn DSTV services from Malawi
The termination follows High Court’s order to Multi-choice to comply with injunction obtained by Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority MACRA against adjustment of DSTV tariffs
Reacting to the order group executive of Multichoice Africa Dr Keabetswe Modimoeng says they repeatedly told MACRA that Multi-Choice Malawi does not offer DSTV service to the public therefore cannot set or adjust tariffs for this service
As a result the order handed down to Multichoice Malawi is incapable of being implemented by them and carries grave consequences for directors and management including imprisonment
Meanwhile DSTV Customers have been requested to halt payment for the service but those who already paid their new subscription will have the services honoured until the current 30 day viewing cycle ends on 10th September
