2023/2024 budget reduced amidst cyclone Freddy impact

The 2023 to 2024 national budget has been reduced from 3.871 to 3.788 trillion kwacha due to impact of cyclone Freddy

In her remarks chairperson for the budget committee of parliament Gladys Ganda has asked the minister of finance to state the activities which have been affected by the reduction of the budget

Ganda expressed worry with the increase of state residences vote by 20 percent considering the woes the country is passing through and absenteeism of secretary to office president and cabinet to parliament meetings
