2023/2024 budget reduced amidst cyclone Freddy impact
The 2023 to 2024 national budget has been reduced from 3.871 to 3.788 trillion kwacha due to impact of cyclone Freddy
Minister of finance Sosten Gwengwe revealed in parliament as members continue making amendments to the budget
Gwengwe said the budget is expected to be passed in parliament on Thursday deliberations of the national assembly will end on14th April
Responding to why government has decided to increase the budget to state residences amid economic woes the country is going through the minister said part of the funds will be used for rehabilitation
In her remarks chairperson for the budget committee of parliament Gladys Ganda has asked the minister of finance to state the activities which have been affected by the reduction of the budget
