Muslims are fasting in Ramadhan

Muslims in Malawi and across the world have started fasting in the holy month of Ramadhan on Thursday 23 March 2023

The fasting began after the Moon Sighting Committee of Malawi announced the evening of Wednesday 22 March about the commencement of Ramadhan

Meanwhile, President Lazarus Chakwera and first lady Monica have extended best wishes to all Muslims in the country as they start the holy month of Ramadhan today

Chakwera said Muslims should also pray for the country as it is going through effects of cyclone Freddy

The president has also asked all faiths to come together and pray for the country as well as offer support to survivors
