Majilis Ullammah Council of Malawi commends Malawians
Majilis Ullammah Council of Malawi has commended Malawians for joining hands in support of evacuated families in the aftermath of cyclone Freddy in the various parts of the country.
Chairperson for the council, Sheikh Mussa Matola, made the remarks during the distribution relief items to devastated families from four evacuation camps in Traditional Authority Mkagula in Zomba district.
Sheikh Matola it is very encouraging that after the made an appeal for relief, member of the general overwhelmingly came up with various items necessitating the council to reach out to the affected families in the country.
He however quick to ask all Malawian to continue with the spirit of assisting the victims as it is the responsibility of every individuals.
Speaking on behalf of the victims, Rhoda Mindano of Maliwata village in the area explained that has house was washed and lost all items including clothes and food items.
Mindano further said the floods has also washed away her maize and rice fields and is likely that she and her children are going to starve for the rest of the year.
She therefore commended Majilis Ullammah Council of Malawi for the timely donation to the affected families in the area.
The items include clothes, maize flour, sugar, kitchen utensils, soap and salt among others.
