Government starts land audit

Deputy Minister of lands Minister Deus Gumba says government has started a land audit to establish ownership of land in order to deal with owners who have not developed land for two years.

According to Gumba, the land information management system which is in use is also making the job easy.

Gumba has indicated that foreigners will not be allowed to have title deeds of land if they have used Malawians to buy land.

He was speaking during a press briefing on new land laws which were passed by parliament
