Concerned citizens petition government, ask president to resign

Concerned citizens have delivered a petition to office of Blantyre district commissioner requesting president Lazarus Chakwera to vacate his office.

Speaking after delivering the petition, one of the organizers Joshua Chisa Mbele said Chakwera’s neglect to resolve the country’s mess forced them to the streets.

Mbele said Chakwera must honour his promise to resign for failing to put the country on track two years after 2020 fresh presidential elections.

“We will continue implementing mass actions if Chakwera does not step down,”Mbele warns

Receiving the petition, the DC’s representative who declined media interviews, promised to deliver the petition to relevant authorities.
