M1 Road contractors warned against sub standard work

President Chakwera has warned four contractors in the rehabilitation of M1 road against corruption and substandard work

speaking during the launch of the rehabilitation work warned the contractors against lack of transparency and accountability to Malawians

He urged them to reveal all materials and stages of the project  and appealed to civil society organisations to make good use of the road

” I ask national construction industry and ant corruption work to ensure that rule of law is abided in the rehabilitation of M1 road,” Chakwera

Speaking earlier Minister of transport and public works warned the four contractors that they will be deported if substandard work is done

Hara appealed to the contractors to employ Malawians to do the job

He urged people living along M1 road to prevent vandalism of construction materials otherwise will be arrested
