Mwapata Institute, government & CISANET partner to transform agriculture
Mwapata Institute has partnered with government and civil society agriculture network CISANET to transform agriculture in the country
Speaking during a press briefing in Lilongwe Mwapata Institute executive director William Chadza said they have organized a two day annual agriculture conference on 1st and 2nd June to discuss policies and research in order to achieve the transformation
Chadza added that they want to identify key areas that will boost agricultural productivity and commercialization which are prioritized in the Malawi 2063 Agenda
On her part CISANET executive director Pamela Kuwali said they partner with organizations that do agriculture research in a bid to develop the sector
“CISANET will ensure that national agriculture policy is implemented and people at grassroots level are aware of it,” Kuwali
National Planning Commission research manager Andrew Jamaali said the policy seeks to promote use of the findings of research in order to deal with challenges affecting agriculture
