Special Needs Teachers suspend strike
Special needs education teachers have suspended their strike because government has released vacancies to recruit special needs teachers across the country.
In an interview with radio Islam chairperson of the group Macferson Chalemela said they are waiting for the interviews to be conducted and see if the special needs teachers will be recruited.
“If our demands are not fulfilled then they will continue with the strike,” Chalemera
Special needs teachers began their strike when Teachers Union of Malawi TUM was also holding its stay away sit in to force government give them covid-19 risk allowances
However TUM suspended the strike after agreeing with government to hold further discussions on the matter
