Malawi Muslims receive K17 million food items from Kuwait Red Crescent for Ramadhan
600 Muslim households in four districts receive food items from Kuwait Red Crescent worthy 17 million kwacha for breaking the fasting in this holy month of Ramadhan
The food items are being distributed in Balaka, Salima, Machinga and Nkhota-kota districts through Malawi Red Cross Society MRCS
Speaking during the distribution exercise in Balaka communications and resource mobilization specialist for MRCS Felix Washon said “one hundred and fifty households in Balaka received maize floor, rice, sugar and cooking oil.”
In his remarks chairperson of Muslim Association of Malawi in Balaka Sheikh Isumaira Nthiko said most households in the district face hunger every year due to natural disasters hence commending Kuwait Red Crescent for donating the food items
After receiving his package Aufi Mayere said the items given are the ones that they lack during the holy month of Ramadhan
