125 million kwacha for ECD Advocacy Week

Ministry of Gender, Community Development and Social Welfare says this year’s Early Childhood Development ECD advocacy week has been pegged at 125 million kwacha.

This has been said as preparations for the launch of the 2023 ECD advocacy week in Nkhotakota on 26 October are underway.

In an interview, chief child affairs officer in the ministry of social welfare Martha Chiwanda says so far the ministry has managed to source over 45 million kwacha from various organizations hence appealing for more support to meet the cost.

Chiwanda says the advocacy week will run under the theme “nurturing bright future, promoting access to integrated Early childhood Development services”.

She said since the introduction of ECD advocacy programs in the country, there is a lot of improvement in education, nutrition, health as well as good performance transition for children to primary schools.
