YEPA requests Parliament to reduce Presidential Age Limit to 30 Years

Youth Empowerment for Political Action YEPA has requested parliament to reduce the age limit for presidential candidate to 30 years from 35

Addressing the press in Blantyre leaders of YEPA said that age limit will help the youth to participate in 16 September 2025 general elections

Leader of the group Dalitso Chauluka says the youth should allowed to participate in decision making positions not only used in political violence 

Chauluka says young people have contributed a lot to development of the country hence the need to empower them.

He further says they approached parliament to consider their plea so that they significantly contribute to transformation of the country

The YEPA leader says if the youths are left behind Malawi will not achieve its 2063 development agenda as was the case with vision 2020

They say young people are very ready to rescue Malawi from the challenges it is facing if given the chance to lead this country
