UK investors visit Malawi next week
Malawi Investment and Trade Center MITC says developmental gaps that are existing in the country are opportunities for it to attract investors.
Chief Executive officer for MITC Clement Kumbemba said this in Lilongwe when he addressed the press on the delegation of UK investors that are expected in the country next week.
Kumbemba said there is need for the country to produce and export more during this lean period as this would give chance to the inflow of forex and more profit.
“There are a lot of investors who have shown interest to invest in the country after noting the existing gaps. Seventeen individuals from ten UK companies are expected in the country from 31st august to 4th September and are mainly interested in investing in energy, financial services, tourism and agriculture,” explained Kumbemba.
Their coming is ahead of the Global Africa Investment summit which will take place in December in London, after being invited by Minister of Industry and Trade.
