UDF Elective Convention in October
United Democratic Front UDF has announced that it will hold its convention on 2nd October at Comesa hall in Blantyre
Making the announcement in Blantyre chairperson of UDF elective conference Aisha Mambo Adams says the party will use 140 million kwacha to conduct the convention
Adams emphasized that for the position of president and secretary general one needs to be a member for not less than five years
She says the nomination fees ranges from 1 million kwacha for president down to 200 thousand kwacha and the party will receive nomination forms until 10th September 2024
In order to ensure more youths and women contest Adams says the party has reduced nomination fees for the youth and women contestants with 50 percent
However she decried the process of the national ID registration hence called on authorities to rectify the challenges before things get out of hand
On political alliance Adams said the party has not yet partnered with any party but said the decision will be made after the elective convention
The organizing chair of UDF convention says everyone is eligible to contest therefore it has not endorsed any person adding all positions are up for grab
