Trickster Arrested

Police has arrested a trickster for stealing two cars in Zomba district, Malawi.

Public relations officer for Eastern region police inspector Joseph Sauka says the suspect Imran Bwanali during the month of September 2018 at Domasi hired a car on self driving.

Since then the suspect and the car were nowhere to be seen hence the victim reported to Domasi police post.

“On 10th November the same suspect at Shoprite Taxi tank in Zomba city hired another car on self driving basis too. The agreement was that he would use the car for a day but the suspect vanished with it into thin air hence the victim reported the matter to police on 20th November,” Sauka explained

He added a team of detectives arrested the suspect on 13th December at Malosa.

Upon interview the suspect who was duping people in the name of Wadi Nandoli confessed to have used the vehicle as collateral with a certain businessman after he took 1.4 million kwacha from him.

Police has also arrested the businessman on charges of receiving stolen property and recovered the cars.
