Teachers demonstrate for December salaries
Teachers have demonstrated in Lilongwe to force government pay their December salaries.
The demonstrations have been held following a three day sit-in after government removed almost 5000 teachers across for not submitting national identity cards to Ministry of education.
The teachers matched from district commissioner’s office to Capitol Hill where they delivered their concerns.
Addressing the teachers the principal secretary in the ministry of education Justin Saidi said government delivered the salaries to banks on Wednesday.
” January salaries have not been paid so they should not think that are receiving salary of this month,” Saidi says
In his remarks Teachers Union of Malawi TUM Secretary general Charles Kumchenga demanded government to make sure that the salaries are delivered to the bank accounts between today and tomorrow failure which they will take another action
